When i bought my car last year, it had done 5k miles and it had been serviced 3 times, one at 2k, 3k and 4.5k, the last being just before i bought it.

The car has now done 15k, 10k which I've done in 12 months so I'm going to get it serviced this week.

Should i go for a Full service or a Major service?

cheers

Sound like different names for the same thing?

Why not just do whatever service is due according to the manufacturers schedule?

There are a few differences between the two, brake fluid change, drain cooling system, starter motor and alternator check.

I would try service the vehicle (what ever it may be) appropriately (what ever the manufacturer recommends) at a reasonable cost (what ever that may be for the work required on the vehicle we haven't identified).

It's people like the op that would put me off buying privately owned cars

At least with ex fleet stuff you know it's had the right service at the right time

Op seriously I'm assuming it's a newish car with those miles and worth keeping a fsh with,

Just stick with the manufacturer recommended and be done with it

After 10k I'd imagine it'll only be air filter, pollen filter, and an oil change that it really needs.

Except that it is an 08 car and age will be a factor. I dont know when the cam / aux belts are due and brake fluid etc wouldn't hurt on a 6 year old car
