Which Settlers games?

I have fond memories of playing 1 and 2 on the Amiga as a kid, many years ago Figured I'd dip my toes in again but knowing what a shock nostalgia can be I'm avoiding grabbing 1 and 2.

There look to have been a load released including a remastered 3D version of 2.... Any specific ones to recommend / avoid?

Edit - The ANNO games looks pretty good too?

I've played them all, starting with the very first one way back when, but I find that Anno 1404 beats them all hands down.

Think I might take the plunge with that then cheers. Is there much of a learning curve, found myself playing civilisation on the Xbox with no idea what I was doing! Been out of the game for a while now!
