Which should I choose? (New GPU or new Monitor)

Right, I'm in the position where I have a choice of things to do... so I thought I'd ask the people who know best!

First off, my current spec:

AMD Phenom II x4 940 (OC'd to 3.3Ghz)
HD Radeon 4890
6GB DDR2 RAM
Domino Coolit A.L.C.
Antec 900 Case
I think a PSU 700W or 750W

I currently use my 26" HDTV for my PC. It's only got a res of 1300x700 odd.

Now I was going to order the new Acer 120hz monitor, then in April (21st bday time) get a 5870. Problem is the monitor is now delayed and I'm fed up of waiting. So, should I get the 5870 and get the monitor (or a better one? Want 120hz though) at a later date? Or wait a month for the monitor and get the GPU in April?

Personally I feel the GPU would be the best choice, so when I actually get the monitor I can play my games at 1900x1080 lovely. What do you guys suggest? I can't decide! I would like dx11 for AvP ideally so thats swaying my decision :P

i'd go for the monitor and then see if you really need to upgrade your gpu for the games you play once you have it, your 4890 should play most games well at 1920 x 1200.

Cheers for the suggestions. It's such an annoyance that the monitor delayed till March >.> But it is indeed likely the best choice.

Must... be... patient :)

To be honest, I would go with the monitor. The 4890 is a pretty good card and I think should hold up for the time being. Personally I'd rather have a dedicated monitor for the PC with a high resolution.
