Which Silent PSU?

Setting up a media centre system and want extremely quiet power supply, what do people consider the best?

Seasonic S12 430W Silent ATX2.0 Power Supply

I was going to include the OCZ, but ive heard these are actually very loud... I'm swaying towards the Akasa.....but hearing a lot of good things about Seasonic, even though id never heard of them before now....

Id go for the Seasonic. Ive got the 600w version and its very quiet, and reliable too.

I would go for the zalman a freind of mine has one and its very quiet.

The thing that worries me about the Seasonic is i cant find a db rating anywhere and this was also what was swaying me towards the Akasa, the Akasa claims 18db and the Zalman (under)25db

On the box of my S12 600w it states 22db if that helps

Also just found a Coolermaster eXtreme Power 500W PSU around the same budget that claims to be under 20dba, i guess its just a case of choosing which ever company you trust the most

Got the system setup today and this power supply is fantastic!

It's so quiet i thought it was DOA!

Truely impressed, now to find a modular one to put in my main rig!

The fan on my S12 430W hovers around 700rpm.

Where'd you hear that? :eek:

I love my OCZ PSU, it's quiet, possibly not totally SILENT but it's by no means very loud. I've had Enermax and Antec before this one and I like this one the best.
