Hiya

I am currently using a 19" CRT Sony Trinitron with an ancient rig and will be upgrading everything in January.

The resolution that I use on the 19" is 1280 x 1024. I don't have great eyesight so can't go higher than this without e xtreme squinting and face nearly touching the screen. I cannot work comfortably unless I'm half a metre away at most.

I need help deciding which size LCD to go for. I would like to go for 22-24". I intend using it for primarily windows use, as well as gaming, and movies. I can sit further away for the last 2 but not much more.

Will these large screens be practical for pc desktop use when sitting close to the screen or will I experience screen fatigue?

I sit about a foot away from a 24" screen for very long periods without breaks (yeah I'm going to die I know), and my eyes feel a little bit funny afterwards, but I'm not sure if it's anything more than I had when using a 17" at 2-3 feet.

My eyes have no trouble at all using a 20" widescreen TFT for hours on end. However, I've also used my 26" Samsung HDTV for a while and my eyes are knackered after a few hours. I sit around 2 feet away from the screen.
