Hello all,

Going to get this picture printed

Where_dreams_start_by_je_design.jpg

But I can't decide on size.

I'm undecided on to get it either A3 or A2.

What size would you go for? looking to order about 6 or so tonight.

Thanks!

EDIT: Reprocessed it as my monitor is calibrated and wasn't when I originally did it. Unfortunately my 350D camera battery is dead so a pic from the phone will have to do!

I'm really annoyed at the white, I made it big enough to bleed out but for some stupid reason I clicked shrink to fit, so this Saturday it's getting trimmed and going in to be properly framed the same as the picture above it :)

Apart from that, very very happy with it, blue is very rich, and I just love it, got lots of comments at work about it! So glad I went for the A2 now!

I think A3 myself, would look a bit off on A2.

Nice picture btw :)

Is there another Photobox deal?

Hmm...I'm undecided, I think it would look awesome at A2 or A3, but I'm really not sure lol.

And Thank You :) - It's been posted here before.

Nope, just fancy getting it printed, a guy at work currently has a printing bug and is causing me to get some of my stuff done :p

I personally recon A3.

If its too small, can always put it somewhere else & get another.

But A2 i feel might be too big for this image, either way it'd look awesome. Framing it too?

Yeah I'm framing it as well, I'm going to Lakeside tonight to buy 6 A2 frames, 7 if I buy that in A2 as well. Providing I can find some frames that are the same to the one I've already had framed which was black wood.

Price dependant as well, it cost me £47 to get one properly framed, if the price is similar then I'll get them all properly framed at a place local to me.

Fstop - I'll be putting a black boarder on it with title and website address, along the bottom in white. Therefore I'll remove the watermark off the picture itself.

Can you explain bleed please? I'm not familiar with this term.

Thanks,
J

In order to get an A2 image to 'bleed' off the page, (i.e. print borderless) the image is printed a bit bigger than A2 then trimmed down to size. You should allow to lose about 3mm all round your image. If you want to keep your tag line without the end being trimmed off then you will need to move it to the left. 6mm is fine then it will be approx 3mm from the edge of the print. Actually the frame might take up a little more so it might be a good idea to move it in a bit more than that.

Excellent, thank you for explaining :)

Going to order it in A2 :D

no point in just reeling off basically what Mohain has just put but yes thats the basics of it.

content to bleed off the desired size as all prints wont be cut one by one manually with a scalple knife it will be bundled in a stack of about 1000 and then chopped to size wether its before or after you always should allow for 3/6mm

OT but i looked at your IR shots the other day and LOVED them phate. well done

i say get it A2 and if its too small then send me it:p

the image file and the final print look a million miles apart to me in terms of colours?!

that's because I reprocessed the image.

The one posted now is the original, but the one on my wall is reprocessed, currently the only version i have of that is a 7000x5000 .jpg or .psd and I'm to tired from work to resize and repost lol :p
