Going to make the jump to Skylake and was wondering what people thought of the different mobo offerings?

I'm looking at the ASUS Maximus and probably a Hero, though looking for something I could over clock easily in the future, any thoughts? ...

Budget?

Want a board that supports SLI?

Size of board matx or atx?

What sort of overclock do you want to get?

No budget per se but don't want to spend money on things that are not important.

SLI not important.

Standard ATX not micro.

Not sure what can be expected out of the new chips at least .5 Ghz surely? maybe 1 Ghz at a push???

I bought the MSI Z170A GAMING M7 from Overclockers last night, which has had plenty of good reviews. I was orignaly looking at the M5 and was going to buy it in a few months, but noticed it comes with a free Cooler master Nepton 120XL worth £70! I though the offer was to good to miss as I was looking at getting a M5 anyway.

Any particular reason why an MSI over ASUS? Not too sure what board to get myself.

Same board I bought (came this morning). Unluckily I did not notice that it came with a half decent free cooler, so had already ordered another one from somewhere else.

So someone in the MM is going to get a bargain at some point.

Main reason I did not pick ASUS, is because I had heard their RMA is not very good. So I looked at Gigabyte and MSI instead this time, though I have liked my ASUS board.

I have no brand loyalty and the offer of the cooler, just tipped my decision in MSI favor. Other wise I would have got the Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 5 Intel Z170 :D

Looks like their is just one MSI Z170A GAMING M7 left now, with the offer of the cooler. My board has just come and it looks nice from what i can see through the antistatic bag.
