Does it matter which pci-e slot i put my gfx card in?

I have recently purchased a sound card and it sits almost directly in front of the fan of on my gpu. i was thinking i could move my gfx card down to the second slot.

What motherboard are you using as some limit the second slot.

In that case, put it in the one nearest the CPU, the light blue one. The orange one is limited to 8x.

Yeah i just rtfm'd and it says exactly that. dang looks liek my new sound card if defunct before i even use it lol.

Am I right in guessing your new sound card is PCI-E based? If so you can put it in the x1 slot above your gfx surely?

it doesnt fit above the card. the nb hs is in the way

So its back to ****ty onboard sound.
