Which Slot?

Hi All,

I have just purchased i7 and Gigabyte Z87X-OC as upgrades from AMD 955.
My current GFX is MSI GTX670. Which PCIE slot should it go in?
I have 1 slot x 16, 2 x 8?
Any benefit in using x 16 with this GFX card?

Single gfx cards always go in the pcie slot closest to the cpu socket, which runs at x16.

so two in SLI would go in the 2 x8 slots then?

Yes. In your board that's the first & third slot.

On some other motherboards it would be the first & second slot.
Just depends on the motherboard & how it has been designed.
