Hi, i recently purchased a logitech z5500 Digital surround sound system, this system has optical and coax inputs on it, to get dolby digital 5.1 and DTS etc.. i have to use either coax or optical, and my motherboard does not have either of them, so i was thinking of getting a new sound card, i do quite a lot of gaming, and i listin to lots and lots and lots of music, and watch movies on my pc, now at the moment i am stuck between 2 cards, these are the HDA Digital X-Plosion 7.1 DTS Connect and the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatal1ty FPS Edition, the creative card comes with a front panel, but appart from that, the HDA card seems ot have a lot better fetures, i aint sure as the price of the Creative card is a lot higher so maybe its better? and it has 64mb of xram.

I need help to decide, which one do you think is better, is creative way over rated?

Hmm, Whats DTS Neo PC, DTS Interactive and DTS Digital LIVE? i see the X-Plosion has that but X-FI doesent, and really i dont want to spend £150 nearly on a sound card, the X-FI Extreme music OEM doesent have a front panel or anything, and looks like it dont have as amny fetures as the X-Plosion, i dunno, it does look like the X-Plosion is better, i aint botherd about latency and a slight delay when using digital, i would rather use digital than analoug.

to buy the x-fi platinum i have to blow £123 so i get the front panel :o, it's too much and i want the front panel, uhmm, so if i got the X-FI, would i just use my normal anloug cable (3 cables) that i use now and get Dolby digital and DTS, and when listning to music in media player like i normally do, will music sound different, will it be in dolby digital etc..?

right so digital wont be needed at all? ok thats me sorted i want an X-FI, but i would like one for about £80 with front panel, whats diffo between an X-FI extreme music, platinum, elite pro and Fatal1ty?

How better is the analoug quality with the Elite pro?, the thing in the end making me choose x-fi is the cool looking control panel and able to use analoug, control panel on HDA X-Plosion looks like my intergrated chips drivers on my other comp.

yea but the front panel would be a nice addition to the case, if i do decided to use digital anytime it will save going around the back of the case, also if i did use digital on the x-fi, it would be stero right? but if i set it to 5.1 on the control center on my speakers would it be in true 5.1?

so its impossible to get true 5.1 surround sound form games?

Anyway i have orderd the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatal1ty FPS Edition + HS600 £29.99 Gaming Headset Bundle - Retail from overclockers for £145 the front panel is somthing i would like and the controls are too, should be getting it on thuesday, looking forward to trying it :D

ah, at the moment when i change the effect to 6ch direct on the control center on the speakers, i cant what seems like propor surround sound from GTA SA, when you drive past a car, its just like the sounds should be, it will be better tho with the X-FI right? also when i have my X-FI setup, what effect should i have the control center on my speakers to be put on, 6ch direct? On the creative website, there is this picture on the X-FI, says DTS NEO ES.
