Which speakers should I get: the Logitech Z323 or the Creative Gigaworks series II?

I am going to build a gaming pc but I can not choose between the Logitech Z323 and the Creative Gigaworks T40 Series II because they both have really good reviews.

So could anybody possibly tell me how they compare to each other or what they are good at.

Thanks

If I could be honest, theyre are both just minor pc speakers for those who watch a few youtube videos or listen to a bit of music and dont care about quality.

Ive read some reviews for the creative and have heard theyre good for the price but not actually good. If youre buying speakers FOR gaming then forget these. Id recommend the Corsair SP2500's and yes, they are a bit more but well worth it. Save up for them and you wont regret it.

I would get the corsairs but I am building my pc soon and I don't think I'll be able to muster up that money quickly enough but thanks anyway. If you can recommended cheaper alternative that would help a lot but try and kelp the price under £100.

Thanks

Logitech Z623's. never heard them while gaming but I'm guessing it'll be okay. When using them, make sure to lower the bass to half or less as the sub starts to distort. You can pick these up for £100 if you find the right place. eBay has a few refurbished ones!

Sorry, have to totally disagree with WuMyster, I've had the Creative T40s and now have the T40 MKII's, and both sound really nice, especially the MKIIs.

I've got mine now paired up with the Creative XFI-HD USB sound card (laptop) and they sound amazing, loud, crystal clear, lovely amount of bass, and great mids too. If you only need or want a 2.0 speaker setup, then I'd whole heartedly recommend them, especially if you get a nice sound card too :)

Fair enough mate. I personally hate 2.0's unless they're monitors. I may just be comparing the quality to the SP2500's :P

No worries, didn't mean to sound argumentative just wanted to offer my honest opinion, and I agree with you that should you have the budget and space then a decent setup will make a difference but the T40 MKIIs punch way above their weight and are rather excellent speakers especially for desktop 2.0s :)

What you are doing is completely ignoring his apparent budget, based on his examples of speakers. The SP2500's are so much more expensive it is not really a surprise if they are better.

The T40's are very good for the money and they are also nice and slim, which is a massive benefit on a desk. They also sound pretty good with music. The series II's better this slightly with stronger bass. Monitors are generally better, could you recommend him some in his price range?

I'll be honest. I did go a bit far but the point I was trying to make was that, personally, I don't think buying speakers in the range are worth it. When the time comes, you'll have to upgrade to something better and since you could only have to buy one set of speakers, you won't have to lose money on previous ones speakers are pretty "future proofed" as well.

Forget them all, go have a look at the bose store :p

Once you hear a set of bose speakers you won't want anything else.

Gonna invest in some after i accumulate enough funds for movies and gaming.

lol Bose speakers!! Bring Own Sound Equipment. You will get much better speakers than Bose ones for the same price.

I presume you were been sarcastic when you said this?

Yes i was kidding lol, sorry i couldn't resist when the opportunity came up.

I still dont understand why they put them
In cars.

Same goes with harman kardon.

Scougar is right I don't think I have a lot of money to spare for speakers so I am looking for a budget set if 2.0 or 2.1 speakers for mainly gaming. I am looking for a good quality of sound, quite good bass, a decent sense of location for sound in gaming (if you get what I mean, I can't really explain it in any other way) and good volume.

Thanks for the posts. I just need to know about any other speakers which might be good for the job and I have taken your opinions in to account and if I do get the extra money I will most likely buy the Corsairs SP2500s. Hopefully the Corsairs might turn up on the Internet for half the retail price.

The price difference seems to be quite a lot between the T40's and the Z323's. What's your max budget here? Also.. how big is the room?

T40's: Good sound quality, good bass. Bass is limited by speaker size (They do have a bass port though) here so it will never match a sub woofer for depth.

Z323's: First I've heard of them tbh. For that price I can't think they would be that good.

Would possibly be looking at some of the microlab stuff... or as recommended.. try second hand.

Alternative: If positioning is important for you during gaming, I'd possibly recommend a set of headphones purely for that purpose. Something like FXC-51's are relatively cheap but are pretty decent with sound and will blow away mid range speakers for positioning and quality of sound + bass.

On the 2nd market I would go for the Logitech z5500 which can be had on our members market for roughly that price.

My budget is no more than £50 pounds really. And my room is rather small but long and I have a medium sized desk.

If you are able to get a set of T40 Series II for £50, I'd suggest you jump on it.

An alternative.. do you have an old hifi with an aux/line-in input?
