This is just a 'What If' question for the moment but here it goes.

I have just bought a Samsung LE32R73BD LCD TV, due to be delivered on Sunday. Now even though the picture quality is supposed to be excellent the sound quality on the other hand is supposed to be quite poor going off the various reviews I have read.

If this is this case what speakers would you recommend. I am not looking for 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound speakers or anything like that. I just want to be able to connect a couple of speakers maybe a 2.1 system to the TV.

It might also be worth mentioning that I will have connected a dvd player and Sky digital too the TV, not sure whether that will be relevant.

Any recommendations are welcome.

Thanks guys.

Is the TV for a livingroom or bedroom? Many PC sets won't fill a livingroom with satisfactory sound. For 2.1, the Aego M 2.1s are always a good choice. If you needed a bit more power, the Logitech Z-2300 are a good choice. I doubt the Logitech's would sound too great in a livingroom though, much better than typical slim/LCD TV sound though. Either are fine for the bedroom :)

It's for a living room. Thanks

Depend's how the TV produces sound.

If its like my plasma that has detachable speakers then any standard set of stereo speakers would do. Depends on your budget of course. I picked up a lovely set of Mission's for next to nothing and they sound great.

Of course if its built in speakers then you'll either have to use the headphone socket (would'nt recommend at all), or the audio out L/R phono jack that plugs into an external source. In either case the speakers you buy will have to be powered and have an AUX in if you're not using an AV reciever.

Not forgetting that if you dont buy speakers with an IR remote, chances are you'll be getting off you're ass to alter the volume..!!!

The speakers are built into the TV so would have to internally mute the sound and attach speakers to the L/R Phono jack.

Thanks so far guys.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. I ideally would like to find 2.1 or 2.0 speakers for under a £100.
