Hi chaps, I played the first couple of Splinter cell games on the Xbox.

Fast forward to now I haven't played a new one for several years, so which one should I buy?

That is what's the best one?

If you've played the first two it would make sense to go with the 3rd in the series, Chaos Theory. It is generally one of the best regarded in the series, although be careful how you acquire it, the Steam version works OK for me but I think the retail version has problems installing on a modern OS.

I played Chaos Theory, Double Agent and Conviction recently if you want to see a modern mini-review of each (possible spoilers):

Price of individual games:

I think I only ever played the demo of Chaos Theory. May have to get it while it's cheap...bizarre that Conviction is actually cheaper though!

another vote for Chaos Theory here, fantastic game but just be aware it doesn't seem to like newer versions of windows.

Yeah, I agree with the calls for Chaos Theory being one of the best in the franchise. Conviction I thought really ruined the Splinter Cell feel, and didn't really fit with the rest of the series.

No problems for me running Chaos Theory (Steam version) on Windows 7 either.

For £2.24...do I make it 4 copies? :p

Edit: Just did, added Conviction for the sum of £1.99, I reckon it's worth that :P Had money to spare in my steam wallet.
