I'm sure there is a thread somewhere but I couldn't see it immediately- I'm just wondering what SSD's you fine people might recommend for my PS5?

I've been doing a bit of reading and know it needs to be a Gen 4 NVMe drive and has to be 5500MB/s or faster but I've read conflicting reports as to whether it needs to have a heatsink attached?

The 2TB Firecuda 530 looks like it fits the bill and includes a heatsink (whick I believe should fit) but it's fairly pricey - are there any others I should consider?

I did look at the SN850 but the 2TB model looks to be even more expensive than the Firecuda and has slightly slower (advertised) speeds!

Crucial P5 Plus 2TB can be had for £197.99

Personally got a WD SN850 in mine when it was cheaper.

I bought myself:
Gigabyte AORUS Gen4 7000s 2TB

After formatting it reported back read speed of: 6558 MB/s
Also comes with a nice heatsink which is close to maximum dimensions, but can confirm it fits without issue.

2TB SN850 with the heatsink. Paid £178 direct from western digital a few months ago. There are usually deals every so often for them. Anything under £200 for decent ones seems to be a good price.
