Hey guys

I've decided to take the plunge and buy an SSD but really can not make my mind up which one
My options are:
60gb OCZ Vertex 2E
Corsair C300 64GB
ntel X25-M

and any other which compete

budget probably £160 not including delivery

Also main use boot drive

AMD Phenom II 965 3400 MHZ C3 125 TDP
Asus M3N-HD/HDMI Nforce 750a SLI
2GB Kingston Ram DDR 800 MHZ
XFX Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTS 320 MB
250GB Maxtor HDD
LITEON DVD-RAM
ICUTE CASE

Cheers Guys Regards Ryan

Depends what you use your rig for. Gaming, internet etc that doesn't require much writing then it would be ok. If you do a lot of video/photo work converting files etc then it may be more of an issue.

Cheers guys

I use this system for gaming and general stuff really.

Slower speed will encourage me to do less writing :P

looks a really good drive but seen the horror story of bricking them.
Really am considering this one since my next upgrade will probably be a sata 3 board so it can only get faster.

If i go for this one any other things i need to know about?

Cheers
Regards ryam

Just ordered

Hey Guys

Just to let you know i have ordered the Crucial c300 :)
First order from OCUK hope it is all good

Should be here Thursday.

I am going to be upgrading to a sata 6gb motherboard in the near future so this should preform really well.

Thanks for the help guys

Regards Ryan

nice m8, im going for the C300 aswell.

my rig is for games also so im going to use the C300
as a boot drive and with the extra space install a few games
like Bad Company 2 for faster bootup and map load times.

once you get the games installed the write speed is not an issue
because you will be only reading from it. unless you wanna swap
a game around or sumthing but its no biggy ;)

its going to be my first SSD, im actually quite excited about it :)

I got Crucial C30064 Gb - nice drive. For OS is perfect very fast read using with AHCI mode.
The only problems that you can have is not always BIOS can see it - so you have to let windows detect it first.Other than that is great buy.

Hey

Glad to see others getting it
My first SSD i brought it also because when i upgrade the motherboard in a couple of weeks/months time i can get even more speed out of this thing :)

Hey could you explain what you mean by the problem it sometimes gets just so i have an understanding

Cheers Regards Ryan

Edit: Also i use steam and just back them up and really the writes are no slower than my current mechanical so i wont really notice a difference.

I still want to buy one, just need to put my money where my mouth is, plus getting money out of me is hard work.

Sorry it's me, my english is crap.
For the first time you may not be alble to install Windows on this SSD just stright on ,cause BIOS wont see it at the first time.So what you need to do you have boot into the windows from your previous HDD and go to the Disc Managment to detect this SSD manualy - and then format it under the OS.
