Hi guys,

Can anyone spec me 55 inch tv? I have no idea what I need, it will be for watching YouTube, occasional Netflix, IPTV and iPlayer etc. I have Apple TV 4k.

I don’t want to buy a tv that is too high spec that I don’t need.

Is it advisable to get one with freeview play?

I was looked for 55 inch QLED 2023 model with Dolby Vision support for the last 3 months. I was very disappointed with LG QLED 2023 model did not have Dolby Vision support and I was looked at TCL 55C845, very impressed it has much thinner bezel than older 55C835 2022 model and has amazing 2000 nits picture quality that are brighter than very expensive LG OLED G3 with 1000 nits. It really not worth to get most expensive OLED and risk get screen burn in.

I will get it when Currys receive stocks and I will get 7% cashback. :)

Regardless of picture brightness, the lg oled will blow that qled out of the water for picture quality. To say it’s not worth getting an oled is complete tosh. The only people who say such things have never experienced an oled tv.

I'd only have led and it's varients if screenburn is issue on oled. I believe micro led is one of the better led designs it's more like oled in design, rather tha. 500 fald backlight led

I do have oled I would risk it I'd have nagging feeling after dozens of hours on a game. I'd rather play safe and use led

Burn in isn’t as much of an issue with the later generation oled panels. Obviously still a possibility but for most users, I think they would find it’s not an issue.

The TCLs are very decent for the price but comparing it to a G3 based purely on the nits is absolutely mental.
