Which steering wheel to get?

I am wanting to get a steering wheel for use with the PS3. I have looked on logitech and there are some really nice ones.
The issue i have is that i play sitting on a sofa or office chair and don't have a desk between my and the console/tv.
Are there any which can get used placed on my lap or am i not going to be able to use one until i get a little table to put it on.
 
Or if its a lounge and you want a foldaway solution, a logitech G25 and a Wheel Stand Pro

I bought that combination and its great. Takes about 20 seconds to set up, is very stable and comfy with any chair/sofa and folds away small enough to fit in a cupboard.

Where does the 6 Speed Gear Shifter attach to? Looks like it would wobble all over the place using that thing.
 
the G25 mounting plate has an extension for the gear lever to clamp next to. You can mount it either side of the steering wheel.

Hmm, the G25 struggles against arcade wheels of 15 years ago (Daytona USA etc) and the PS3 is short of decent 60FPS racers.

Playseats are overpriced, they use the same tubing as £30 excercise machines, if you can weld or know a competent welder, you can build a better one for a fraction of the price.
