A friends after a synology with redundancy, so a 2 disk system mirrored would do.

He wants to be able to stream media and rapidly gain access to his files mostly via the cloud. Personal experience with the synology systems is that the older ds411j's aren't up to media streaming via the internet. I understand the internet connection will matter his end, this is suitable.

He has about 300gb of media atm, but this is likely to increase a fair bit with the inception of a internet accessible storage solution so am thinking 1-2TB might be enough.

Can you advise what synology would be up to this and what disks would be able to give the read speeds required to allow streaming via cloud / internal network?

Was thinking ssd would definitely do the job and think my own solution doesn't do the job as the cpu/ram isnt up to much on the older synologys..

Many thanks,
