I've got a PC and a Laptop. My PC is a P43.2 and my Laptop is a 1.83 Centrino Duo.

I could play Crysis on both, but I would have to upgrade the graphics card in the PC to a 2600 pro. My lappy has a x1300 in it.

The lappy will play at low settings, and the PC with a 2600pro in it would play at medium settings.

The 2600 would cost me £50-60.

Should I pay up so that I can play it on the PC?

Maybe, but the x1950 is DX9 whereas the 2600 pro is dx10 - my system is AGP btw

The X1950 would dominate the 2600pro. Doesn't really matter if its DX9 or DX10 because the only way to get DX10 content is with the options set to 'Very High'. And if you do that on a 2600pro, it will probably crash or go at about 1fps.

When it comes to cheap cards you want to stick with dx9. You'll get playable framerates and it will still look the business. If you only want to spend around 60 quid then the 7600gt is the only choice when it comes to gaming. You could either spend a bit more (around 100) for the x1950pro which is probably the best agp card there is, or you could wait a while and see if ATI decide to release an agp card based on the 3800 series.
