Hello. I have an fx 8320, m97 evo R2.0 and corsair H80.

I'm going to be overclocking the CPU I just have some questions on temperature monitoring before I start.

These are idle temps

These are temps after about 5 mins prime95

I don't trust the CPU temps in core temp and hw monitor. As at idle they are below or around room temperature. Seems way too cool. The BIOS gives this as the idle temperature

Which seems a lot more realistic. So which are the temperatures I should be watching? What sensor is giving these really low readings?

Is Temperature #1 on hw monitor the CPU? Seems to match with the BIOS reading.

Thanks for any help.

Try real temp and hwinfo64. The temperature sensors on AMD chips don't read the true core temperature. they always seem to be out by about 20C.

I always thought that the motherboard temperatures were for the mobo/mobo vrm temps.
