Apologies for the thread...

I've been using a 19" ViewSonic TFT for the last 4 years at least and would like something bigger. I have no real idea how much bigger, but I don't really want to spend more than £300.

I use my PC for playing Dark Age of Camelot (MMO) and watching movies etc. So it must be as good for gaming as possible given the price.

TIA.

Have you tried searching Google or indeed the forums. There are reviews - I should know, I wrote an 8000 word one. I would agree given your uses that an IPS panel monitor such as the Dell U2412M could be worth looking into. If you are particularly fussy about 'dark details' in films then IPS monitors aren't really the best choice but if you like a balance and a good variety of rich and distinct colours then they could be the ticket. I wouldn't worry too much about the responsiveness aspects for MMO gaming, really they should be pretty good for that. :)

Sorry, I meant OCUK reviews.

Having gone from a 2ms TN-panel to an S-IPS panel I would never go back, even for 120Hz gaming. There is no disputing that TN-panels have better response times but the image quality just isn't as good. IPS offers the best compromise and still offers response times that are great for gaming, especially for MMOs which simply aren't limited by response time.

Check out the reviews, as most clearly state that IPS monitors are great for gaming.

The OCUK description doesn't state which panel is TN and which is IPS. Which panels do the Dell and Benq use?
