Which thermal compound to use?

Hello everybody,

I've ordered a new build and included in that build is a Noctua NH-U12P. It comes with NT-H1 thermal compound. I also have Arctic Silver 5, and which do you think will be a better thermal compound to use?

Also, as with Intel Quads, the line method of applying the thermal compound was thought to be better to use (highly discussed however..), and I'm wondering if the same method would be good for an i7?

Thanks in advance :)

Hey RameY,

asking what Thermal compound to use is akin to asking what burger is best for lunch! . . . there's really not a lot of difference in it although discussions on this subject can get quite heated and a great conflict could arise!

Arctic Silver 5 is premium grade so you should be fine!

*removed 2012 spoiler (/reference) - sorry =p*

Thanks for the advice, I'll stick with the AS5! :)
