I've been looking for a smart black stainless steel watch for a while now, and other than the rubber strap, that first Armani one looks great. Pricy though, so you are probably paying for the brand. Who knows how good the mechanics are...

Police have a similar style for cheaper.

£300 would get you a nice Christopher Ward (dressy sort of watch, I dont think this budget stretches to the sport ones) or a very nice Citizen Ecodrive :)

If you can stretch to £350 - £395 Precista / Timefactors make a variety of nice watches, of very good quality.

I'm trying really hard not to buy a PRS-20 at the moment... :)

Edit: Or if you're after a diver, £200 will get you a Jap import Seiko SBCM023 with a high end 8F35 movement (8 years battery, +/-20 seconds per year, perpetual calendar). I have one of these stuck in customs as we speak. :)

For that sort of money look at getting a decent Seiko divers watch, there's a fair few in that price range - thinking of getting an 'orange monster' for when I don't want to wear my best watches.

I'm sort of amazed that it's possible to spend £365 on a watch that looks like a Fisher Price "My first watch".

It's a Panerai homage, people pay 10 times more for almost the same thing* (Panerai use dressed up ETA movements in their watces). A lot of people subscribe to the 'less is more' mantra, personally I don't like a lot on a watch face.

* Not bashing Panerai btw, I wish I could afford one. :(
