pitty about the second pci-e slot only running at 4x speed if he ever wanted another graphics card.

the asus in his spec provides 16x for both slots.

I would wait until the Phenom II X6 1055T is released in the next week or two as it hopefully should help reduce the price of the X4 965 and Core i5 750. Also the 890FX motherboards are being released very soon IIRC.

If the OP does not mind going for Crossfire at PCI-E 2.0 8X/8X they could get one of the cheaper 790X and 890GX based motherboards. The 870 chipset should also support symmetrical Crossfire at PCI-E 2.0 8X/8X:
