which to do ?

Hi All i have a problem , i want to get some more memory , but i am running vista 32x ,and i know that if i get 4gig 6400-800MHz ( 2x 2gig ) i will only be running at 3gig . What i want to know is ,would i get more speed and performance if i upgrade to an 8500 -1066MHz type RAM 2gig (2x 1gig ) or go with the 4gig ?

Due to the amount of resources vista uses you'd prob be better with the 4gig of 6400, though if you can try and get 4gig of 8500, pref 2x2 sticks
