Which TT?

I'm going to order a new car in the next few days, and I've narrowed it down to an Audi TT or a Merc C Class Sport.

Very different cars I know, but I can't get an E Coupe anytime soon and I don't want a CLC and I'm fond of the C Class because I've had them as company cars before.

I know all about the Merc, but not a lot about the TT.

I've had a drive in the petrol, but not the new diesel because they didn't have one!

It's the diesel I'm considering purely because the C Sport I want is a diesel but that's not to say that I wouldn't buy a petrol, I'll be doing between 8-10k miles a year - I can get a decent spec C Sport for my budget, but for the same sort of money I can get a fairly basic TT.

Is there much for me to know before I decide which car to order?

I've not driven any so not the best to give an informed opinion but I did a bit of digging as I've been considering one and it seems like the 225bhp 1.8t is the pick of the bunch.
 
Sorry forgot to mention, it's a new TT - ^ The 1.8 is only 160bhp in new shape.
 
Personal leases fail, Maz. You of all people should know this.

Only you know whether you need a 4 door Mercedes or a 2 door Coupe. Neither are bad cars. I'd probably have a C350 Sport.

My neighbour has a 56 plate 2.0 TT and it has now done 70000 trouble free miles.
If you get the TTS it has virtually the same engine as my S3 and it really flies, especially with a simple remap to approx 320 bhp.

I don't need 4 doors, but I can't get an E Coupe.

I just want to know more about the TT.
 
The TT to go for without doubt is a rare model, but worth hunting out.
You can tell them apart from the lesser models by the "Z4" badge on their bootlid.
 
The TTRS is a thing of beauty but I don't know if it is worth it, it probably is just to have a 5 cilinder engine. :cool:

I would want an RS really over a standard TT obviously, No idea either if these are good for the money but I do like them more than the Z4.
If I had to get the standard TT I would get the Z4 instead. No real logical reason for thse oppinions.
