...for dual screen setup
Viewsonic VX2025 wm 20,1" 1680x1050
NEC 20WGX2 20.1"
Samsung SM-226BW 22"

i've heard very good things about the Viewsonic and i think i'll go for it - what do you think about it?
notes: NEC may be aswell out of my list becouse of price,i'm not a fan of the design of samsung

i'd say the NEC Is definitely the best out of the list

but it is pricey.

Viewsonic is a TN film based panel so not the best of picture quality, and the 226 has had numerous issues ( see the big thread on it)

issues like?
Dont wanna read the whole 10000 page thread, can you give me quick view

overall is there anything wrong with the viewsonic?are his characteristics alright?

i can get the viewsonic for 250 pounds + Vat - is the samsung a better buy?

I've had the Viewsonic 2025m for a few eeks now - VERY happy with it.

I was also going through the same dilemma as you.... here's what swayed me.

The 2025m is very well reviewed more or less everywhere, although it is agreed that the NEC is slightly better for gaming (although the Viewsonic got one of the best votes for BOTH DVDs and games). What put me off the NEC (apart from the price) was that "glass" panel screen that apparently you either love or hate. If you have direct sunlight coming through a window ontot the screen, this can also be a problem too.

I also decided, once a 24" screen was out of the question, that I'd rather go with 20" instead (and not 22"). That's because they both have the same native maximum resolution and the extra 2" on the 22" just stretch the image (most would say imperceptibly) giving a slightly less sharp image than the 20".

So, this ruled out the Samsung 22".

I'm sure people will recommend others, Dell, Samsung 20" etc, but all I can tell you about is what I bought, ,why I bought it, and let you know I think it's great!

I'm in a similar dilemma, although i'm after a single-monitor setup.

There is a lottery on the Samsung, you may either get an "S" panel or an "A" panel. The "A" variant is supposedly of lower quality with more backlight bleed. However, under normal use average can't really tell the difference, from what i've read.

I'm undecided as to which 20"-22" monitor to get, too. All of the non-TN panels are too expensive so, for me, it's out of:

Samsung 206BW
Samsung 226BW
Viewsonic VX2025
Viewsonic VX2225
Viewsonic VX2235
Belinea 2225S1W
Dell E228WFP 22"
BenQ FP222W

Are any of those worth adding to your list? As of right now, i'm still looking for answers as to which of these to purchase, so if anyone can say if any of the above monitors are not even worth considering can you please point it out.

Sorry for the thread hi-jack but this may help your decision, too.
