Ive decided to buy a set of mv2 reps from rochford tyres in the uk unless something genuine comes up on buy and sell or elsewhere in the next few days.

Rochford do them for 420 (+45 del) stg with crap tyres, the upgrades offered are as follows:

Semperit Direction Sport 225/40/ZR18 +50stg
Avon ZZ3 225/40/ZR18 Tyres +80stg
Uniroyal Rainsport 1 225/40/ZR18 +90stg
Toyo Proxes T1-S 225/40/ZR18 Front 255/35/ZR18 Rear Tyres +120stg (i assume this means i get wider rears)

To be fair they seem the cheapest for the actual wheels and the tyre prices arent bad. Ive heard the semperits arent bad and actually better than the avons, are the uniroyals or the toyos worth the extra?

I shelled out for f1 eagles on my golf, i havent the stomach to do it again!

just ordered some toyos 255/40z/ on 17's £96 each, very good tires in wet or dry which is why i use them on a very unforgiving skyline

The Toyos are great but wear quickly.

That's because you sacrifice grip for longevity with tyres... The more grippy the softer the compound.

I agree with the Toyo's being very good though. I had Toyo T1-Rs before my GYEF1's and there wasn't much grip difference in the dry and only a small amount of difference in the wet. Well worth the price.

Goodyear f1's are better than toyo

i went from a set of F1's to a set of Toyo's and i would have the F1's back any day grips so much better

Out of those I'd go for the Toyo Proxes, although the T1-R not the T1-S

I've got the T1-Rs on the front of my MG and I've found them to be very good

I dunno... the 'Federal' tyres on the front of my car are down to the limit after 6 months.

Although, I did spend all summer making them squeal around roundabouts
