Hey peeps,

Just got home to find I have flat tyre on the front of the Yaris. I've got the nasty spacesaver on there for now but need to get a new tyre as soon as possible.

I may as well replace both front tyres seeing as the treads getting low anyway, so while I'm at it so thought I wanted to see if you lot had any recommendations. It's fitted with Dunlop SP9000s at the mo in 195/50/15, and they've been quite good tyres actually.

Used to have Toyo T1-S on the 106 and found them grippy in the dry and mediocre in the wet..are the T1-Rs any better?

I have a budget of £100 for the two tyres and fitting. What do you recommend? Thanks!

Andy

I drove home from the shops with it completely flat so the sidewall might be mashed to shreads..it certainly doesn't look great :)

Anyway, the tread is almost illegal on both front tyres so its a sign to get them changed!

Its sods law..I've just fitted a diesel tuning box and was gonna give it a test run this afternoon..not on a spacesaver thats for sure!

Quite a few people here use Goodyear Eagle F1's. I have them myself and think they are fantastic, however I only got 10k miles out of the front tyres before having to replace them but the rears still have plenty of tread left. You can get them in your size for £33.10 a tyre on mytyres.co.uk each which is a bargain IMO. You will then be able to get them fitted for around £20.

Id say F1s mate :) Ive had them on 2 of my cars and ive allways found them to be fantastic. As soon as tyre replacment time comes around ill be getting a set for my puma

What do you guys think of Michelin Pilot Sports? The reason I ask is that Costco stock them, and fitting is included in the price. It is also dead easy to get the tires done there as you just drop the car off before going shopping and pick it up when you're done.

it all depends on how he drives the car. If memory serves me correctley he used to own a rather tasty 106 GTI so id think he would make the most out of F1s.

Doh :(

How does MyTires work then? Do you order the tyres then take them to KwikFit when they arrive?

I had Michelin Pilot Sports on my MG was very happy with them. They seem to last for ever.

But in going to take Fox's advice and put a set of 4 Goodyear Eagle F1's on the audi.
