I need 2 new front tyres for my ST24.

Currently there are some Dunlop tyres on there which seem fine, but are there any better ones that I should get prices for?

The dunlop's cost about £50 each fitted, so something that's likely to cost near that would be good.

Tyre size is 195/65/15

thanks

Get some Eagle F1's.

And you must be the only guy in the world with an ST24 on 15's

I'll get a price for the eagle F1's.

I don't like the 15's but that's what came on the car when I got it, even though it was probably a bad choice to buy the car (I should have waited for a different one that didn't have the minor problems this one did). It's done now though.
I have considered getting some new alloys for it before getting some new tyres but still not sure if it's worth it at the moment.

Can you not get lower profile tyres that 65?

No idea. That's just what's on there at the moment.

Would it make any difference if I got a lower profile? even though the rears are 195/65/15.

they aren't Ford wheels.
They look like cheap alloys.

wow, you have a nice car :D

thank you.

I was surprised at how small the rear discs/pads are when I changed them a couple of weeks ago. They looked like they should go on a Fiesta 1.1!!
They do the job pretty well though :)

I forgot to post back on this thread.

I got some Dunlop SP sport 01 tyres, 2 on the front, for £110 fitted.

I was told they don't do Eagle F1's in the size I needed.

They do, becuase the size you need is 195/60/15. They do Eagle F1 GS-D2 in this size.

You currently have the wrong sized tyre on your car.

What do you mean by the 'wrong' size?
I know it should have 16" wheels, but why should it have a profile of 60 on 15" wheels?

I still don't understand how they're "wrong".
Surely they're just different, not wrong?

Does it really make a difference to the way the car drives/handles?

ok.
I'll live with my speedo being out by 3mph at 70mph (and out by less at lower speeds), and the handling doesn't seem that bad to me so having the slightly larger profile can't have made too much difference.

I just dont understand why people don't just keep to the correct tyres in the first place. It's like the cheapskates who keep fitting oversized 205/55/16's on Mondeo Zetec's...

I agree, it doesn't make sense.
The price between 2 tyres that are both 16" or 15" (but different widths/profiles) etc. is likely to be a very small amount anyway.

I suggest you look at tyre prices before coming out with statements like that. A simply step from 50 to 55 makes a huge difference to a 195 15"

and a simple step from 65 to 60 is about £3 difference.

I did also say it's likely to be a very small amount and not it is ALWAYS a very small amount.
