which upgrade first...HW or Win7

Hi,

RC is coming to an end. My hw (775 to 1156 MB, E6550 to i5 750 CPU) is due to for update.

Plan in doing RC-Home Prem (upgrade version) in place upgrade using http://tech.icrontic.com/articles/upgrade-the-windows-7-rc-to-retail/ trick.

I "should" be able to swap HW. Couple of reboots. Reactivate Win7 RC online. Then upgrade Win7 using the trick.

Any one done this. any see a flaw in my genius.

(I normally go for fresh but too many apps. If it fails then I will.)

There is nothing much to say really, neither the in place upgrade from RC or changing the motherboard (is i5 a different socket?) is supported or recommended but if you've backed up I don't see any reason not to try. If it's just games on there you have nothing to lose.
