Which upgrade from X58?

Is Z97 the one to go for? Can't afford X99!

I was looking at the i7 4790k, but if funds are too tight, it may have to be the i5 4670K. Will also go for an mATX mobo this time, perhaps something from Asus or Gigabyte. I think I'd prefer Gigabyte due to their UK RMA and good customer service.

Any suggestions? Looking around the £400 mark for the i7 4790K & Gigabyte Z97MX-Gaming 5

Gigabyte Z97MX-Gaming 5 or Asus TUF Gryphon Armor Edition?

Can't see much difference between the two regarding specs? Any thoughts?

I've dealt with Gigabyte before, had a very good experience. I can't see that the Asus has anything the Gigabyte hasn't?

Is it even worth upgrading from X58 at the moment? Where do you feel your rig is lacking?

It's not lacking at all. Just want to downsize the case to mATX. mATX X58 mobos are hard to come by and go for silly money. Been offered money for my mobo and chip, so thought why not!
