Which upgrade path? CPU/MB or GPU...

As you can see in my sig, I am currently running two 6870s on an OC'd 1055t.

I have the upgrade itch and I can't say I am blown away with the performance of the CF6870 and the problems that come with crossfire, so I am thinking of selling the two cards I have and moving over to a 7950. I currently game at 1080 and play games like BF3 and TW games.

But, would my CPU be a hinderance on the 7950? Shoud I instead go over to an i5 setup and look at getting a new GPU later on? Would the i5 yield better results with my CF6870 and leave me a bit more satisfied in comparison to if I kept my CPU and went for 7950?

Cheers in advance for any help you lot can offer.

Yep the AMD shouldn't really be holding your cards back by much, Go for the 7950 or maybe the 7870 if you can wait a couple of weeks.

Yeah, I'll be making the move in a few months time so I'll assess that market then and see what the best GPU is for 1080p gaming p/£.

But then I think, if I do that, my current cards will be worth a lot less by then? Surely the sooner the better is the best idea?
