Evening all

Just wondered if i could have some advice, me and the other half are expecting next year and i plan to abuse my video camera to the extreme getting clips of the new little one :D

I am going to be doing a lot of video editing so im thinking of treating myself to a nice piece of editing software, i dont want anything to expensive but im willing to pay a bit. Im only going to mainly want to cut certain bits out etc so nothing to fancy, i have tried using avidmux which is free ware but not having much luck with it at all. I dont want to re-encode or anything like that just a simple cut of certain parts

Could anyone help me out on a good reliable piece of software?

Thanks a mill guys

Yeah Sony Vegas is good. But you know, more and more I find myself just using movie maker. Reliability is questionable sometimes however.

Just had a look at sony vegas and it looks good but perhaps a bit to in depth for what i might need it for.

I have just been reading up on VideoReDo and that seems to get very positive reviews, think it costs about £35

I haven't tried many but am currently using Nero 11. It is a quite simple interface, allows frame-by-frame editing, has all the fun transition features and such and also has advanced editing mode that I haven't played with yet.

Of course it is Nero, so it is bloat-ware but it also has all the cover designers and video convertors and burning tools and Litescribe and blah blah blah... :D

I got it for $45 (about £28) from a popular software retailer.
