which vista ultimate

hi all, im going to be buying the above version but unsure of which version to buy, oem or retail.
is the only difference that retail can be installed on more than one pc at once, and that oem the serial is tied to the first mobo once activated?
or would you suggest something different/

Depends if you see your self changing your mobo any time soon which you might when games ect in vista become slow as your hardware in your sig is a bit aged sorry to say. Retail may be better if you upgrade a lot and dont want hassle with try to re-activat

With all the threads on licensing - I mean there are how many on this first page alone, which one gave you the impression that you could install Ultimate Retail on more than one machine at once?

Ultimate OEM - You purchase, you install, it dies with the PC (Minor upgrades only)
Ultimate Retail - Good for the life of the OS. Can be transferred from one machine to another, pay once use it for as long as you like over any number of future machines.

However all licenses are per machine/installation - neither OEM nor Retail can be installed on more than one machine at any time.

Indeed.

Its a bit like all the firewall and AV threads.
