I'm fancying a new "war" type game, but can't decide which one to get:

Arma 2
Call of Duty: World at War
Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising

and that's before I even think about the coming Modern Warfare 2.

Any recommendations?

Or am I going to end up getting all 4 at some point?

Arma:2 for realism. Good sim although i wasn't massively impressed, but my brother spent about 2 weeks of his life playing it solidly.

Hells Highway was pretty good, can be had new for very cheap as well.

I didn't really like Airborne at all, just didn't really like the movement in it. Althought I only really got past the first level, so i may install the game and give it another whirl.

COD1-2 single player is also very good so that's worth a look.

It isn't that bad, I just played through the first single mission, was fun for me. Much prefer it to Arma2 so far.

Though neither is as good as OFP1 + Conquer the Island :)

Just got Arma 2 today £17.99 free delivery, can't go wrong, I'm hoping its as much a simulator as its supposed to be - I'll let you know! (installing now while in the Aion queue lol)

Why ?????

oi Tefal, brief review?

Is it that bad? I was looking forward to it :(

read the last few pages.

The AI is quite buggy, the graphics are average and nothing like what they where hyped to be.

The radial command system is terrible as it works of WASD not the mouse so you can't move while issuing commands, and worse still it doesn't disappear after you issue an order, so you say "move here" go to run off and acidently issue them another comand.

When switching weapons with the mouse wheel you can't move at all, and when changing ammo types he starts loading each one as you go through it which is annoying, and if you use the separate change ammo key you've got a 50/50 chance of losing your mouse wheel function and mouse pointer in menus.

Worst of all, for the multiplayer an d coop they dcecided dedicated servers where unnecessary and made it p2p making anything over 4 player coop completely unplayable.

This combined with absolutely no CD key, and no anti cheat protection means even if you do get a working MP game it's going to be full of hackers using the pirate copy.

Thanks for that Tefal, might have just made my mind up to skip this game.

Such a shame, as the first was / is a fantastic game.
