Which Wax? - For protection purposes

Morning all,

We have two cars at the minute that are used as daily drivers.

What are the recommendations for wax?
- Looking for hard wax that I can apply maybe twice and three times a year
- Purely for protection purposes rather than "looks"
- To protect from all the usual grime that attacks the paint, but also to preserve a cleaner look for longer between washes.

If it ain't broke don't fix it!

I bought a big tub of Collinite and it will definitely out live me at the rate I get through it

I got it because it was cheap and it was what everyone else was using at the time but I did slightly prefer the Harly Wax I had before so I'd personally recommend that.

Scared me off in the quite complex application process?
Just getting the car in the garage to apply it will be a problem

Collinite 845 for me - dead easy to apply and seems to last a decent length of time (~6 months).

Works better on light coloured cars, whereas Collinite 915 is better for darker colours

For a quick job you cannot go wrong with Collinite 476. Had a tin for nearly ten years I think so it lasts.

If you have time to do the full works go ceramic though.

I've gone for Hybrid - pot of Collinite 476 for a heavier coat, plus 845 for a liquid top up when time is short.

Autoglym UHD for me, few others leave such a deep gloss and for a wax it’s super easy to apply. I then just top up with aqua wax.
