Just ordered some case fans and I'm thinking about airflow in my case but I had a question - which way do the fans run on a graphics card? I assume that they blow on to the card?
I have an MSI twin frozr 6950 that has the two fans facing downwards when installed in the motherboard. I assume that the fans take air from inside the case and blow it on to the card, which then mostly escapes through the vents in the back panel (I.e. Outside the case)? Otherwise it'll be using the vents in the back panel to bring in air which passes over the card and then vents into the case which seems a bad idea, especially if you have 2 cards working in crossfire.
Is this right? If so, then a fan at the bottom of the case blowing air in to the case and upwards towards the card would seem a good idea.
