Which way round do fans go...?

Question about my fans on my V1000 Plus II. Which way round should they go? I removed fans that came with it to add new quiet ones and can't remember which way round they go!

For the front fan, the fan logo is pointing into the case. I'm sure this is right as I remember how the filter bracket was fixed to it. What about the back fan though? Which way round should that be? The side fan also I'm not sure about. I want that one so it's sucking hot air out don't I? So is that logo facing out? I'm a stupid idiot for not remembering which way they went! And also for not knowing this. It's basic knowledge that I'm simply lacking obviously!

Case fans normally have an arrow indicating the direction of flow, failing that just stick your hand in front of the fan when it's on to see if it is blowing in the right direction for your needs :)

front case fan = sucking into the case
rear case fan = blowing out of the case
side fan = normally blowing into the case, but can be exhaust too.

On the V1000 the front and rear 120mm are both intakes. The plus adds the blower exhaust fan and the Plus II adds the exhaust fan at the side.

On one of the edges of the fan (either ADDA or the newer Lian Li branded ones) there are two arrows - one shows the direction of rotation and the other shows the direction of air movement.

I have the Scythe S-Flex fans, but no arrows or anything on them. But I can tell by whizzing the blade round that the air is exiting the logo side. Why both intakes on this case? Isn't that unusual? Wouldn't you want hot air from that CPU area being taken out? It's right next to where the CPU cooler will be.

No fan indicators on an aftermarket fan? That sounds daft to me, but hey-ho.

The V1000 is a very unusual case and it basically works on pressure. You can run both fans on intake (the inside of the case is at a higher pressure and the air is forced out of all the gaps) or you can run it in reverse where the fans all blow outwards and air is sucked in through the holes with dust everywhere.

If yoy have a plus II your side fan should blow out though.

AH, ok, done that then. Thanks for the info. Now the only problem I've got is fitting my Scythe to the side fan. The screw holes on the Scythe are smaller than the ones on the Lian Li fan, and therefore it can't be fixed to the whole bracket system. Will have to enlarge the holes in the metal to get it to fit I guess. You'd think all fan screw holes would be the same surely!

EDIT: Actually, the actual fan holes themselves are the same, but this side fan has got smaller screw inserts for smaller screws to be used. The normal size fan screws won't fit. Can't see any way to get them out so as to be able to use them in new fan. Unless you can buy them in a hardware store. Mmmmm.....

On mine the slots are just big enough that you can screw the fan screw through the slowand then screw it into the fan. Or you can use the rubber 'screws' that acoustifan sell. They also work very well.
