Which way should I go?

I have an amd athlon 64 x2 5000+ cpu in a cheap msi mobo. I also have an XFX GeForce 9600 GSO graphics card. I am going to buy the amd phenom II x3 720 BE and I am trying to find a good AM3 mobo that supports DDR3 and has SLI capabilities for NVidia cards. My question is should I just wait for an nvidia compatible board, or should I switch to ATI and go crossfire with it?

just buy a GFX card which is better i think SLi and cross is only for those who have the cash to splash so a more powerful card would then leave you not needing to think of which mobo

If I get a mobo that advertises it's support of ATI graphics cards, can I use NVIDIA or would it be exclusively an ATI board?

Nope, you can use any card, whether the chipset is Nvidia or Intel.

Maestro is my homey. He really wanted to know if you can use sli on a crossfire board. Also he wants to spend <185 on a board.
