3x 27"
or
1x 29" Dell + 27" Samsung + 24" HP

Some history here first, Few years ago i owned 2x HP LP2475w, if anyone remembers these. they was extremely good monitors & still are. I sold one as i didn't really have room or use it that often.

I then Bought a Samsung 30" 2560x1600 which i loved to bit but, As games got stronger my 2x 280 & 2x 570 2.5gb Couldn't keep up I sold it for £350 after 2 years use When i paid £1200.
I love the extra detail that 2560x Gives But also love my current monitor & would love 3X setup

Now I currently have the SA950D 27" 1080p 3D screen. seen below:
which cost me around £600

Now im thinking either buy 2 of these to make my Monitors
3x 27" (these below are slighty different looking) + i would have the HP to sell.

OR

I Could buy 1x 29" to make 29" + 24" + 27"

If its for surround gaming then your only real choice is 3*27" (being all the same resolution)

If its just to have three monitors with different apps then it doesnt matter too much , but personally I think the 29" ratio / res is all wrong so while the quality is pretty good (I have had three different Dell monitors , all of which have been outstanding upto the 3011 which I have currently) I wouldnt touch the 29" with a barge pole :)

fair enough,

i don't use my others monitors often normally for Gaming streams or forums/mumble etc, however id never use surround gaming i wouldn't like it.

so you think 3x27", are there any 27-30" monitors you'd consider if you was me maybe 2560x1440?

2 mind here though,
1. might not use 2 or 3rd screen enough
2. the "new" main screen that's 2560x might anny me that the 27" is different and not using it much anymore. in a bit of a dilemma.

i kind want 3 screens the same because i've its what i've always wanted.

to try it. but lot money to just try it.!

I understand your dilemma (I think most of us hardware nuts on here have been where you are at one time or another lol) but if I were you , unless you really NEED three screens, I wouldnt put that kind of money on something "just to try it".

The initial buzz of having three screens will all too soon wear off (imo of course)

If I were you I would actually be tempted to save up for a high res 27" (like the Dell 2713) and an upgrade on your graphics card. Use that as your primary screen, and use the Samsung as your 2ndry for forums /mumble etc (I was going to suggest putting this in portrait mode as this might annoy less being different model/res but with that Samsung stand, maybe that isnt an option).

This is such a personal choice (rather than performance related) its hard to advise imo

I'd go for a 2560x1440 screen; i'm not a fan of this new 29" res which just seems to be a bigger 27" with the top/bottom cut off leaving you less usable desktop.
