Which web browser are people using?

I've used Chrome for years and I'm happy enough with it, but recently I've noticed it doesn't respond correctly when using certain websites (eBay, Vimeo). If I do the task on Edge it seems to display and interact properly. But I don't really want to use Edge.

Is there a go-to browser at the moment? Firefox, Brave, Chromium? Or shall I just stick with it?

I use Firefox with some add-ins (like uBlock) and then occasionally Brave. I would probably use Brave if I hadn't used Firefox for as long as I can remember.

I have used Firefox for 20 years now! Before that it was Netscape. In 2002, Netscape got open-sourced as the Mozilla suite, in which Firefox is the browser part. For years, it has been far more common for users to use just the browser and if they still use an email client then it's Mozilla Thunderbird.

In fact, I found an old HTML file that I created using Netscape Composer back in 1999, and even then it mentions Mozilla.

Code:
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
<meta name="GENERATOR" content="Mozilla/4.7 [en] (Win98; I) [Netscape]">

Firefox, mostly due to the better privacy options and not wanting Blink/Webkit to have full monopoly over the web. There's also the Manifest v3 changes coming next year which will affect ad blockers, for normal users they won't notice a thing but for power users it will. Plus Firefox already includes a few extra APIs that makes blocking better.

Anything but Chrome, i find it strange that people choose to use a web browser from a company that makes the majority of its profits from selling advertising space, i don't think there ever been a more fitting use for the term 'you are the product'.

Firefox at home, Edge at work.

I can see people jumping to Firefox in large numbers next year once manifest 3 is released on chromium based browsers.

Can you please drop a link to any articles about Manifest 3? I haven't heard of it until I saw this thread. Wikipedia doesn't have an article on it and Google threw up results about a TV series so it's not that.

'Firefox maintains the largest extension market that’s not based on Chrome, and the company has said it will adopt Mv3 in the interest of cross-browser compatibility.'

Depends what you want to learn about it but I'm going to assume you want to read about the negative aspects of it, if so this does an alright job of explaining why people don't like the idea of it. (Or any of the articles on ghacks about it)

Firefox with UBlock.

I tried edge and other chrome browsers from time to time .... Thing I noticed with chrome browsers is the picture quality isn't as good as firefox
I've seen a few people say that but I checked again not so long ago and I think it's better now (that was with my old monitor tho)
