Looking to pick up a webcam (or 2) soon.

I've got a Logitech Sphere which won't work with Windows 7 so I am looking for a replacement.

No specific budget but I don't really want to spend £££ on something that isn't much better than the middle of the market type devices.

I'm using the C910, it's a very nice webcam.

Logitech also have the C525 which has auto focus and an 8MP resolution for taking photos. Plus 720p video calling.

I don't see the C525 listed on overclockers, but it retails for about £45.

Hi Robin, you seem like you know what you're talking about with webcams. Do you use them for personal or business? I have a business where I use Skype everyday and I think I need to upgrade my webcam (using an inbuilt one at the moment on a HP netbook!) so maybe you could tell me if it would really make a difference to the AV experience.

Thanks in advance.

I recently got the C910 and the Microsoft LifeCam Studio.
Both do 1080p video.
I bought them, on black Friday deals so they were both nice and cheap :) , for streaming purposes.

C910
Pros: Very good video, handles movement well with very little motion blur. Audio is decent but can pick up background noise.
Cons: Doesn't handle low light all that well.

M.LifeCam Studio
Pros: Very good audio, seems to cut out a fair amount of background noise. Seems to handle low light well.
Cons: Serious motion blur at higher resolutions.

On a sub-note I haven't finished grilling them yet, these are all preliminary results.

So far the C910 is on top :)

I've looked at both the Logitech C910 and the MS LifeCam Studio but I am still un-decided.

I am still interested in finding out how the mid-range webcams are like. The 2nd webcam I am looking to get doesn't to need to be top spec, just good enough for Skype/Live video chat.
