Which wine with you xmas dinner?

Which plonk are you serving with your xmas dinner, how much did it cost and what makes it special?

I am a complete philistine with wine, so it's just Piersporter for me. a fiver from Tesco's. I would spend more, but I don't know anything about wine. I am making it a new years resolution to learn more.

Well for boxing day I'm cooking beef wellington, so with that I'll have a rioja, got some half decent stuff 2001 and was just under £4 a bottle from Tescos.

All in the same sentence, ones got to be the odd one out, I'd say replace decent with vinegar.

For sure it isn't amazing, but it definitely isn't vinegar. 2001 was a good year for tempranillo, think the price was for 2009 though, they had a mix up, I took 60 bottles after trying one. I had some great wine for £3.69 a few years ago, was so nice I purchased 120 bottles

Normally I wouldn't look under £6 a bottle, but sometimes there is a bargain to be had.
