Which wireless router specifically for MaxDSL

I have a budget of around £250 for a good quality wireless router, wireless PCI card for my PC and a card for a laptop.

The router must be stable with MaxDSL, which seems to rule out Netgear products according to comments made on here and ADSL guide about the problems caused by fluctuations in the SNR.

Any suggestions/comments will be greatly appreciated

You'll get a Cisco 857W for not much more than that (not including wireless cards etc though).
Probably gross overkill (and you'll probably struggle to configure it), but ho hum.

Can't say I'd touch Belkin with a bargepole. If you're after a cheaper suggestion, there's a Billion router that's well liked.

I'm in agreement with the last two posts. Belkin make good cables, and maybe even good surge protectors, but their networking kit is to be avoided. A bargepole just doesn't cut it.

I've had a Vigor V2600G for two years now, and with the exception of a month when it decided it didn't like the firmware that was installed (fixed with the help of their technical support department), it's been absolutely rock solid and had typical uptimes of 1-2 months before I choose to reboot it. Having said that, my Linksys WRT54GS gets similar uptimes.

Only thing to watch with Draytek is some of the minor features around the periphery tend to be a bit flaky or mysteriously vanish in firmware updates. Can't say that's ever caused me any problems.

Thank you all very much for your helpful suggestions. Looks like i will go with the Draytek as it has had some wonderful reviews. Do they make a PCI wireless card though? as i can't seem to find one? If they don't who makes the best PCI cards?

For best muticast and ADSL2 support a Speedtouch 585.

Drayteks are good but the 2800s have issues. For stability go for the 2600.

Also Zyxel and Linksys.

Don't go near Belkin or DLink IMO, the new DLinks arn't that bad but the 300T etc were horrid.

I've just upgraded to a Thompson 585. So far, quite impressed.

My old router was a Thompson 510, this morning that synced at 2.4mbit , and has been stable all day (rebooted it at 12pm ish). I installed the 585 this evening and it synced up at 3.9mbit. It could be coincidence, or not though :p

Config wise, it's not too bad - but I prefer the more direct method of config as with my old 510.

They go for about £55, and for the price I'm pleased with it, and the WiFi configuration was easy, although I had a little trouble getting it to allocate my own WEP key.
