I've been using an HP workstation for a couple of months now and it’s a good bit of kit as I was able to spec it myself
. However in the office where I work I’ve been asked to get something similar to the machine I have at the minute for a colleague. The spec of the two machines is as follows:
My Machine (HP xw4300):
- Intel Pentium D 960 3.6ghz
- 3gb DDRII SDRAM
- PNY Nvidia Quadro FX 540
- 250gb Hard disk
New Machine (HP xw4400):
- Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 (2.4ghz)
- 2gb DDRII SDRAM
- PNY Nvidia Quadro FX 550
- 250gb Hard Disk
Now the question is - Do I take advantage of this situation and take the new machine and give my old one to my colleague or do I stick with the one I have? Are they much of a muchness or would the C2D be better? I use my machine for CAD, Photoshop, PowerPoint, 3D Studio Viz, Dreamweaver, etc..
Thanks
