Was thinking of getting one of these, but there seems to be a massive variety of these things, so thought I'd post here and ask for some recommendations since I know there's some RSI sufferers onthe forum.

Basically, there's the simple "stretchy rubber glove" thing like this one.

There's the slightly fancier ones that often come with built-in splints and stuff.

Then there's some weird little things designed to keep your wrist from touching the edge of the desk (something I've thankfully trained myself out of, in fact I stopped using my mousepad because the built-in cushion was making me do it more!) such as the novipad or the Wrist Donut.

Bit overwhelmed by the variety really... what do people here use and like?

Shouldn’t you be seeking advice from a doctor or a physiotherapist on one of these? How do you know that they won’t do you more harm than good?

Taking a break every hour or so and doing so drum warm ups helps loads, also not constantly thinking "I have RSI" will make a huge difference.

Could they? I assumed they were designed for people with wrist pain... I don't really know! Besides, getting a referral to an orthopaedic or a physiotherapist could take weeks.

And yeah, I do make the effort with all the vital things like posture, taking breaks and stretching etc., just needed something to provide a bit of extra support.

For what it's worth: I don't have RSI but I do have a dodgy right wrist and use the one in your 'slightly fancier ones' link. I mostly immobilises the wrist but you can still use a mouse (although slightly awkwardly). The metal insert is quite good and you can take it out to wash the whole thing (they do get sweaty and horrible to wear).

I don't know what RSI is like, though, so can't advise on that. Hope that helps a bit.
