Thinking about finally upgrading away from onboard sound, partly because the oem X-Fi is so cheap. While I would like a breakout box or drivebay connections, I don't have that much money to spend atm.

Is there any reason not to get the cheapest option (this one) other than missing out on some bundled extras? What benefits does the 'music' edition have over the cheaper 'Audio' edition?

i'd go for the music version, iirc the audio one is a cut down model which doesnt include or work the 3d effects/EAX correctly.

not 100% definate about that so please feel free to wait for confirmation.
