With so many sellouts on YouTube, which channels do you follow?

Currently, i've subbed to the following:

Channels i didn't like:

Digital Foundry - far too console focus for my liking.
LinusTechTips - can't stand this guy. Anyway, it's a tech channel for babies IMO.
TekSyndicate - This guy has his **** up Nvidia's arse.
JayZTwoCents - Very inconsistent.
AngryJoe - He's a *******, can't say more than that.
OC3D - Remove your OTT logos. I don't need them burning a ******* hole on my screen.

I'm not actually subscribed to any tech channels which was slightly surprising when I stopped to think about it.

I sometimes watch Digital Foundry and PCPer as they do at least have some decently in depth testing methods, Linus does some interesting videos from time to time but I find difficult to watch unless I'm in the mood.

GamersNexus is usually pretty decent I might subscribe - I actually meant to at one point and forgot.

My general tech knowledge and access to hardware is pretty extensive if I do say so myself which makes tech channels somewhat less useful for my own consumption/to get info from as I've often done enough of my own testing to pretty much know what they are going to say.

As this is PC gaming rather than just hardware - one I am subscribed to is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCP7QY6L5pvmm0-stL-pNFrw (Battle(non)sense) as he does some great breakdowns of things like game netcode and other things that can affect PC responsiveness, lag and performance etc. some of which are really hard to test for yourself unless you have a lot of experience and a proper setup to test.

Just a small sample of the ones I like to watch that hasn't been mentioned so far:

Ahoy
Lazy Game Reviews
Gggmanlives
Kills Alone
Noah Caldwell-Gervais
colinfurze

I'm subscribed to about a dozen, only watch a handful if that though.

Ones I watch:

  • Ashens
  • Digital Foundry
  • Mark Brown (highly recommended)
  • Marques Brownlee
  • Tom Scott

Subscribed to more but I tend to give more attention the the above.

Tech/Gaming channels wise: 2

UpUpDownDown - wrestlers playing games. Much fun and a very charismatic host
Extra Credits - Not always gaming focused but started that way. Shortish and interesting videos on game development/industry practices. Some history videos too!

The rest of the time I'm too busy playing games to watch others play :p

Scott Manley. Astronomer/gamer clips.
Seesmod. Ralph Garman & Kevin Smith podcast.
Frasier Cain aka Universe Today. Astromony stuff.https://www.youtube.com/user/universetoday
The Yamiks. Mainly Elite Dangerous, with some funny stuff & strong language.
AkaMikeB. Games, mostly indie & the occasional not regular podcast.
Smooth McGroove. Makes acapella arrangements of video game songs.
SuperBunnyHop. Games reviews/news/criticisms etc.https://www.youtube.com/user/bunnyhopshow/featured
WTFSexyHeadphones. FPS game plays, mostly STALKER.
SpaceRip. More space stuff.https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1znqKFL3jeR0eoA0pHpzvw

There are four that I am subscribed to - Boogie2988 who makes me laugh, Dave2D who is a straightforward, down-to-earth guy who reviews laptops, Lisa from MobileTechReview who I would marry in a heartbeat and the best one Digital Foundry which is my religion. :D

Have you seen how much this charlatan is raking in on Patreon? He was on about $1000 a month before he posted a youtube adpocalypse begging video which saw it jump to over $3500 overnight and stay there, and for what? His so called reviews are based on maybe 2 hours tops of actual play, most stuff he barely puts more than an hour into, as can be seen from his steam stats. How can you trust anything this **** says about games?

I'd recommend Noclip to anyone interested in gaming. They produce high quality gaming documentaries. I've not watched them all, but the Doom ones are superb (helped by the interviewed ID guys being great in their own right)

Superbunnyhop is another who produces more considered content, though not up to Noclip production standard.

Like OP, I tune in to Jim Sterling and Totalbiscuit. I actually like Angry Joe - his fanbase is no fun at all though, utter pricks.

Also Nerdcubed and Boogie2988 (a bit)

I like Stan Burdman, though he comes and goes with youtube - very funny guy. Ashens is great.

My good lady wife follows loads, cross fitters, body builders, keto and those type. Plus one called Beard Vs Food, or summet like that. A competitive eater from Leeds.

I watch this American guy, Mustie1. he wields his spanners pretty good.

I had to laugh at one of his last vids when he started talking about his divorce woes and had sad music playing in the background. All a bit too calculating for my liking.

My 1st ever YouTuber I followed is iJustine - Not sure if it was her stunning looks or the Videos that got me stalking all her vids lol...

on a serious note I don't watch her anymore she bores the hell out of me like all girls do in the end....

I now watch : https://www.youtube.com/user/caseyneistat ..... I started watching his vids 4 years ago when he only had around 500k followers , He now has over 8 Million & is a millionaire............ such a fun guy to watch and very inspiring .. if someone has nailed how to speak to people directly and engage in a fun way this guys done it.... he now works in partner ship with CNN.... He was pretty much broke and turned his life around from doing what he loves , making videos.
