Whichat newsgroup server do you use ?

I'm not sure if such discussion is allowed on here? Or if that's just discussing which 'content' people are downloading?

I use Tweaknews as my primary server and Astraweb as my backup server. Both give me 100% on my FTTC connection, and did when I was on Virgin's 152mbit.

In before the close.

Why?
Don't talk naughty and it won't get closed.

Anyway, I'm on my 12th year with Easynews which is both web based and unlimited NNTP.
I used to have a combination of Easynews + Newshosting for many years but don't need Newshosting now.
I'm also setup using Virgins servers via Newsleecher.

Is it still worth bothering? I was on Usenet for about a decade but after the takedown of the red pill / blue pill site and the advent of pretty much instantaneous auto-DMCA bots things took a spiral. Pretty much everything is either fake, encrypted or taken down. I ended up going VPN + torrents but it's far from ideal.

If I'm missing something obvious (new decent site etc) I'd appreciate a mail in Trust...

OP with the takedowns etc it's the US owned ones getting hit first/worst, so as above Tweaknews is a good shout with a decent Tier 1 backup. I used to use Supernews + Blocknews or Astraweb + Blocknews but these days I wouldn't be so sure.

I use Astraweb but they are having a lot of problems lately, looking to switch probably over to supernews. The benefits for me over torrenting is the automation, it's a lot easier to automate usenets compared to torrents, usenet's can max out my line and also there is no need to 'seed' anything.

Used to use Astraweb, but it went downhill. Switched to Supernews 2 years ago and haven't looked back never had a single problem with it.

Easynews;

You have been signed-up continuously since Sat Aug 06 03:23:02 MST 2005 (10.05485153 years).

I find them excellent. No DMCA issues at all these days.

Virgins own, gone of the days of Astraweb and Giganews for me.

If I need anything out of retention, I have, let's say, excellent ratios on invite only places ;)
